Step 1: Home StudyRead the manual and answer a few questions at the end of each chapter. Watch the two hour video. This video goes right along with the book and shows you the skills you will be learning and also gets you pumped up and ready to go. We can set you up with the manual and video a few days to a few months prior to class. If you are coming in from out of town, we will ship the training material right to your door so upon arrival here you will be finished with your home study and will be ready for… Step 2: Shooting the breeze with the Captain
At either our place or yours, the Captain covers the most important topics in each chapter to prepare you for the multiple choice exam. Don’t sweat it, you’ll be ready. We set up the equipment and let you try it out, answer your questions and have a lot of laughs! Step 3: Pool Party Life is what you make it. You will learn and master the skills needed to dive safely and efficiently. Patience and comfort are KEY. We won’t hurry, so don’t worry. The skills are not difficult for the vast majority of students. Clearing water from the mask can be a hurdle for the chronic nasal breather. See Techniques #3 Step 4: Fish Play a.k.a. Open Water Dives We do the first two dives consecutively in Tarpon Bay, which is calm, easy, and fast. No current and no waves mean no stress. We take care of most of the optional skills to free up time during dives three and four (which must be done on a different day). Conditions permitting, we cruise offshore in the 28’ Scorpion IV for a Gulf reef and wreck dive. The Capt. leads you thru his backyard for an intense demonstration of Gulf Diving at its finest. We finish back at the shop by logging our adventure and snapping a photo for your C-Card!!!
