Live Aboard Dive Cruise on Nekton Pilot September 1-8, 2007

Wow .....what an Awesome Adventure! This was the best vaction I have ever taken, 7 nights six full days with nothing to do but Dive! Dive! Dive! I logged a total of 25 dives for the week and on Wednesday morning 9/5 I made my 100th dive.

The cruise itinerary departed from Ft Lauderdale cruised over night to Bimini making our way South through the Bahamas and the Cay Sal Banks. We would wake every morning in a new location, move to our afternoon dive location and stay there for the night dive, our southerly travels took us to the blue holes located 30 miles off Cuba.

The dive locations and sites were incredible there were so many fish, reef critters and corals you just didn't want to leave. I'd get back on board and run to the reef reference books to find the name of what I just saw and couldn't wait to exchange stories.

There were reefs with underwater swim throughs, blue holes with awesome walls and tunnels so much to see and explore. The night dives were fantasic and we even did a dirft dive hoping to see a whale shark. The big hole shark dive and feeding was intense,  the most incredible thing I've ever done.

The crew on baord was fantastic along with the food and the cruise was "B.Y.O.B." they even took us to the liquor store before we got on board Saturday early eveing!

The 8 of us that booked with Jeff and Jessi on this trip really seemed to enjoyed each others company and became fast friends. We all had a great time sharing the days dive stories, laughing and drinking late night up on the sun deck relaxing just watching the stars and even through in a couple card games of euchre. Mr. Sherwood and Mr. Buchee learned a few things from the Magic Conch. Good Times!

Can't wait to see the videos Jeff and Mark took. Get that editing done you guys!

I've posted a few pictures from the trip, I cut them from the DVD I bought on the boat and from the CD Kathy sent sharing her pictures.

I can't wait to go on another live aboard dive vacation / adventure.

I think I'll write a few more blogs sharing my dive log notes I wrote after each dive. Bye for now....Dive! Dive! Dive!
